Viking Star Spa

Access to the Viking Star Spa is included for all passengers, although specific procedures such as massages are extra.  The spa is located on the first floor near the gym.  As you walk in, you can first got through a locker room area with a sauna and hot tub.  There are showers in this area for personal use, although they are open with now door or curtain to separate you from the rest of the locker area.  There are plenty of towels and robes available here, the same ones available in your stateroom.  The photos below are the men's locker area, with a separate women's locker area on the other side of the spa.  Both areas offer plenty of privacy.

The main spa area consists of a small pool area with generated current, similar to an endless pool.  The water in the pool is slightly warm, although certainly not at the level of a hot tub.  However, next to the pool is a legitimate hot tub with enough room for about four people, seen below.
Also in this area is the snow room, which essentially feels like a walk in freezer.  Be sure to watch your step as the flooring can get icy in here.  To warm up, you can use the sauna located across the room or the aforementioned hot tub.
In addition to the traditional shower head that you can use prior to getting in the water, they also have the classic overhead bucket filled with water.  Be warned that the water in here is typically very cold, causing a few passengers to yell out in surprise.
I did not try out the extra services provided by the spa area, but they included a variety of massages, nutritional supplements, as well as manicures and hair styling.
Having all of the spa area included for all passengers was a great perk, one which we tried to take advantage of as much as time permitted.

  1. When you say there is a sauna and locker room, it the sauna and locker room for Ladies and Gents or is there a separate area for Ladies and Gents. Seems strange that the showers are open if they are for co-ed use.

    1. There is both a separate male and female sauna/locker room on each side of the spa. The spa area itself is open to both sexes but the locker rooms are separate. There are traditional showers in the locker rooms, as well as additional showers in the spa area to use while wearing a swimsuit before getting in the pool/hot tub. I've tried to update the post to make this more clear. Thanks for ready.
