Viking Star Common Areas

The Viking Star is designed with open spaces in mind.  The only time the ship ever felt crowded at all was on the sea day in a few areas such as the Explorer's Lounge.  The Explorer's Lounge is located in the bow (front) of the ship up near the top level.  There is a large bar, as well as plenty of chairs/sofas.  Mamsen's is located within the Explorer's Lounge.  However, the main draw of this area has got to be the gorgeous view of the sailing locations as you enter ports.
On the very top of the boat there is a sports deck open in the daytime.  Here you can find putting greens, a bocce ball field, as well as a few outdoor exercise stations.  You also have a great view of the surrounding areas from here, so this can be a fun place to hang out with some great views as you're leaving ports.
The topside pool is not extremely large, although has enough room for 6-8 people comfortably as well as some shallow areas you can lay in the water if desired.  The area has a removable roof, so can be used regardless of the weather.  Also near the top of the boat is the Wintergarden area, located next to the topside pool.  This area has a Nordic theme with the rafters and columns designed to mimic Yggdrasil, the mythical Norse tree at the center of the cosmos.  This is where they have tea-time everyday going from 4-5 PM along with some live music.
There is also a small inifinity pool with hot tube next to the outdoor dining in the aft of the ship.
Moving down to the bottom of the ship.  The first floor of the boat has a large open area centered around a grand piano with an accompanying large staircase leading up to the second floor. Live music would often be played here in the evening.

There is also a small bar/coffee area located on the first floor.  They also serve pastries in the morning.
Both the first and second floor have a variety of sitting areas, along with playing cards, boards games, etc.  There were also some interesting Viking mini-exhibit museum pieces.
